The village of Skattungby attracts like-minded people; some come and go, some stay a few years and others permanently. Although the village has lost half of its population in the past 50 years, it is home to one of the most vibrant eco-communities in Sweden.

On the edge of the village is a collective called Skogmans, once one of the richest farms of Skattungby. Nowadays there is no electricity nor running water. The aim of the inhabitants is to be self-sufficient, and their alternative lifestyle teaches them how to live a healthier and more full-filling way for the mind and body.
